Chico State men pull off miracle against Sonoma

The Sonoma State Seawolves have been the proverbial thorn in the Chico State Wildcats side for a decade and a half in men's basketball. Chico had not been able to solve the Seawolves and it looked like Sonoma would get the best of Chico again in the 2012 CCAA Conference Championship Tournament. But, the CCAA Player of the Year and former Sonoma State guard Jay Flores would not be denied. Exemplifying the heart and hustle that he showed for his entire Wildcat career......Flores would not let the Wildcats lose this thriller played in La Jolla on the home court of the U.C. San Diego Tritons.....Flores' steal and assist led to Damario Sims game winning shot as Chico won the game and ended Sonoma State's season.....

In what would be a pre-cursor of things to come in his marvelous Chico State career, Jay Flores would hit this spinning, whirling game winner at Cal State Monterey Bay on opening night of the 2010 basketball season. Chico trailed by 17 at the half only to come back at beat the Otters at the Kelp Bed

EPIC Comeback Chico State Men

On February 12th of 2005 the Chico State Men's Basketball program had the greatest win in the two decades of Head Coach Puck Smith's 20 year career. Trailing by 14 with two minutes left the Wildcats staged a remarkable rally eventually beating the San Bernardino Coyotes 107-105 in overtime

In one of the great comebacks in the history of the Chico/Davis rivalry. The Chico State women come back from seven down with 1 minute to go to beat U.C. Davis 87-86. The game winning shot comes on a Marissa White three pointer at the buzzer !!! It sets off a wild celebration on the Aggies home floor

Chico State played poorly for 35 minutes in this game in December of 2003 but staged a frenetic rally in the final few minutes and Kim Abts came to the rescue as Chico beats Holy Names at a tournament in Arcata.
