Chico Woman Accused of Knife Attack on Mother

A Chico woman is in jail on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing her mother. Chico Police say 20 year old Jerusalen Torres allegedly attacked her mother with a knife Wendesday morning at an E. Lassen Avenue apartment. The victim, 36 year old Alejandra Alvarado, was taken to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. Torres was arrested on the assault with a deadly weapon charge.
